Incumbents dominate spring ballot listings

It might seem far now, but with spring just months away, the April 2025 election will soon be upon us.
With filings closing and towns set to hold caucus as well, these are the candidates for the Stanley-Boyd area.
Starting with Stanley-Boyd Schools, its Becky Carlson for Area 1 and Lanse Carlson for Area 2, both incumbents.
As for the city of Stanley there are four ward openings on the ballot, with Ward 3 alderman Jacob Huff filing non-candidacy.
Filing papers to run for other wards are Ben Wald (Wards 1 and 8), Jason Meyer (Ward 2), and Laurie Foster (Wards 4-7 and 9). All are incumbents.
In the Village of Boyd, President Bob Geist will once again stand for village president, being elected to his first term in 2021. Michael Eslinger and Dale Isaacs will be candidates for trustee. Isaacs previously served on the board before having his seat filled by Josh Walters. Current trustee Sarah McQuillan has filed non-candidacy.
As for the townships, Worden held its caucus Monday, Jan. 13, while Thorp held its caucus Tuesday, Jan. 14. Candidates were out for each. Wilson held its caucus Jan. 7, with Daniel Meyer nominated for Board Chair, Ed Shilts for First Supervisor, Aaron Vizer for Second Supervisor, Danielle Barka for Clerk, and Robin Richardson for Treasuer. Colburn candidates are Brad Hompe for Chairman, Kiel Morello and Steve Sime for Supervisors, Dana Hartzell for Treasurer, and Jeff Milas for Clerk. The position of constable is open.
As for caucuses yet to come, Edson and Taft are both scheduled to hold their caucuses January 21 at 7 p.m., each at the town hall.
The Edson Town Hall is located just east of the intersection of County Highway M with County Highway D south of Boyd, while the Taft Town Hall is located in the northwest corner of the intersection of County Highway F with Meridian Drive.
Up for reelection and expected to run at Taft are Town Board Chairman Darrell Thompson, Town Board Supervisor Delano Kroeplin, Town Board Supervisor Jerry Czubakowski, Town Clerk Lori Czubakowski, and Town Treasurer Lana Knox.
Lastly, the Town of Delmar will hold their caucus on January 18, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Delmar Town Hall. All terms are for 2 years beginning on Tuesday April 15, 2025.
