An infant was locked in a car by a dog last week but removed without incident. The call took place Wednesday, April 29 at 10:21 a.m. on North Broadway, with Stanley Police Chief Lance Weiland sharing more.
“We did receive a request for a vehicle lockout after a caller reported their dog had hit the lock button inside the vehicle while their young child was inside of it,” he said. “The vehicle was able to be opened by staff without any issue.”
More recently, the Stanley-Boyd area has suffered from cars being egged by unknown persons, with Cadott also experiencing mischief overnight Saturday.
The Stanley Police Department shared more in a Facebook post:
The Stanley Police Department has taken multiple complaints of vehicles being egged overnight as well,” it said after reports surfaced at Cadott. “Please check your vehicles and contact the police department (715-644-5975) as soon as possible if your property was affected. We would need to ensure we receive an official complaint if you wish to be eligible for restitution related to cleaning and any damage that may have resulted.”
The number for Cadott residents, meanwhile, is 715-289-4238, with reference to case 25CA00313. Residents should take photos of the damage if not already cleaned, and hang on to receipts from car washes for documentation.
