Golf may seem a highly individualized sport,
but for one local athlete it’s still a chance worth taking. Made known to staff is the news that Isaac Brenner will be competing in the Division 2 State Golf Championships at 9 a.m. Tuesday June 8, the meet being held at Skyline Golf Course in Black River Falls.
In order to qualify for the state competition, Brenner golfed an 88, with Skyline Golf Course
set at a par of 72.
During Tuesday competition, Brenner will
face off against such names as Connor Lingen of
Medford (qualifying score 86), Nick Krueger of
Northland Pines in Eagle River (qualifying score
83) as well as August Lang of Somerset, with a
qualifying score of 92. Although this newspaper goes to press before competition results are available, readers can check back next week to see how things went down, however they turn out. It’s not an easy feat, after all, to make State. Hats off to Isaac Brenner, whatever the State outcome!
