Judy K. Simon, 63, Stanley, passed away peacefully at Oakbrook Nursing and Rehab Center on January 31, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on June 9, 1959 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley to Jerry and Joan (Svoma) Simon. She graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1977. Judy’s passion for life was children and especially babies. She spent countless years watching over numerous children who stayed connected to her into their adulthood. Some of the adult children also returned to Judy when they needed daycare for their children. She will be sadly missed by all of them.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and a brother-inlaw, Randy Schneider.
She is survived by her siblings, Lynda Schneider, Kirk (Deb) Simon, Karen (Buster) Hawk, Jim (Julie) Simon, John (Jill) Simon, and Lisa Simon; 16 nieces and nephews, Jenny, Chris, Kim, Greg, Pete, Ashley, Nicole, Adam, Becky, Daryl, Josh, Derek, Brett, Chad, Jayme, and Sydney. 33 great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great-nephews and nieces. She is further survived by her very supportive dear friends, the Mnikolaicik family.
A celebration of life will be held on February 18, 2023 at the Community Center in Stanley from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
