The local council of the Knights of Columbus tootsie roll drive was very successful. The council would like to thank the residents of Boyd, Cadott, Stanley, and Thorp for their generous donations. We would also like to thank Hansen’s IGA and Alex Zamarripa, Store Director for allowing the council to stand in the front entrance of the IGA for forty-seven hours soliciting money for a charitable cause. The cause is to help people with intellectual and physical disabilities in our area and in Wisconsin. The Special Education Departments in the Cadott and Stanley-Boyd School Districts will each receive a check for $823.12 for the needs of their special education students. In addition, the Team Wisconsin Special Olympics will receive $182.92. This money will help pay for expenses for the needs of the athletes and coaches that qualify for the Special Olympics in 2024. Again Emer-Quinn Council would like to give a big thank you to all the people that donated. If you are thinking of getting involved and give service to your community, consider joining the Knights of Columbus call Jerry Dirkes 644-5426.
