The Oriole girls came away with a win recently against Elmwood/Plum City Tuesday December 21.
When the play was over the score stood 46 39 in the Oriole’s favor. After the game, Coach Alison Becker shared some of what she thought had gone well “The girls stayed focused down the stretch,” she said. “Made some important free throws and took care of the basketball at key times at the end of the game.”
Going in to last week’s swint eh Oriole girls had opened their season with a string of losses to Elk Mound, McDonnell, Ladysmith, Rhinelander, and Cadott.
As to what the team might take away from the successful encounter with Elmwood/Plum City, Coach Becker shared the following.
“We will keep getting better, stay competitive and I’m hoping they learned a valuable lesson this past game of how important it is to stay focused on the present moment and stay composed to the end,” she said.
The Lady Orioles next play against Flambeau at Flambeau, with a followup against Osseo- Fairchild the following week.
