Leave a legacy at Echo’s Playground: bench auction now open

Posted

The Stanley Community Association (SCA) is excited to offer residents a meaningful way to leave their mark at Echo’s Playground, Stanley’s upcoming dog park. A special bench, donated by the Stanley Lions Club, is up for auction — and the winning bidder will get to choose the dedication plaque’s inscription to honor a family member, friend, or beloved pet.
Bidding starts at $300 (these benches typically sell for $400), with minimum increments of $20. To place a bid, simply comment on the original auction post on Facebook. You can also bid on behalf of someone not on Facebook, with their permission. All bids must be submitted by midnight on August 22, and the highest bidder will win.
Proceeds from the auction will help make Echo’s Playground the best space it can be for Stanley’s furry friends and their families.
A big thank you goes to the Stanley Lions Club for generously donating the bench. They collect clean, slightly stretchable plastic—like bags—at the deposit can near the IGA, which is then recycled into these durable benches. Community members are encouraged to continue supporting this sustainable effort by donating their plastic bags.
