In August, Nancy Radcliffe gave a wonderful presentation about her book THIS IS EDEN? Nancy wrote this his – torical fiction to honor her grandmother
Hattie who homesteaded south of Boyd with six children in 1913. Nancy's visit to the library included visits by relatives and former neighbors of Nancy’s who were excited to see this pioneer story get told! This is Eden? is avail able for check-out from the Stanley library.
In September, local author Joy Van – DeLoo visited the Creative Writer's Guild to share her poem “Surprising- ly Good". Her poem was originally written as a song, and it was recently published by Eber & Wein in BEST POETS OF 2021. This was Joy's sec – ond time being published. Joy is also credited with being the founder of the Creative Writer's Guild which current ly meets at the Stanley library twice each month Bloomer author Loraine Fasching bauer will be our guest on October 25th at the regular meeting of the Cre ative Writer’s Guild, to share, answer questions, and offer encouragement to members of the Creative Writer's Guild. Loraine is also a chaplain. She enjoys writing from her life experienc- es, which are many and varied. Her book, Just Me Your C.N.A. is just one example of her writing. Creative Writer's Guild meets at the Stanley library every other Tuesday at 2:30. Teen Creative Writer's Guild meets once each month at 4:00.
