It was also noted that the Stanley Lions Club has been recognized by Brian Sheehan, Lions International President, and received a Membership Satisfaction Award for adding new members.
In reports, Lion Jim Jones reported that the 100 plus trees planted last summer in local parks have been inspected and it was determined that 14 of them did not make it. The trees will mostly be replaced by the company that supplied them and Jones is making plans for the replanting. Lion Dave Jankoski reported on the “Power of 100” that could benefit the Stanley Boyd area – if one hundred people would come together annually and contribute $100, that could then be given to a worthy cause or project. Few people can afford to donate $5,000 or $10,000 annually, but together 100 people could provide an impact by each giving $100. Representatives from Boyd and Stanley will be meeting soon to determine if this is feasible to pursue.
The Lions Annual Steak Fry will take place at Fandry Park on Monday, June 10. Included in the annual gathering will be installation of new officers for 2024-2025. Special guests will be deceased member’s spouses if they wish to attend.
