Recently I’ve heard a few stories regarding local successful bear hunters. Much conversation has circulated about a hunter from Eau Claire under the guidance of Otter Lake Outfitters har vesting a huge bruin with a crossbow, which weighed 570 lbs. field dressed (630 lbs. live weight).
A few people have asked me if I know where that bear was
harvested. Other than a smart answer “somewhere in the woods”, all I know is that it was somewhere north of Stanley. Pictures of the giant bear have been posted on the Otter Lake Outfitters Facebook page.
