Local Family delivers sweet nostalgia

Mike and Nikki Witt, longtime residents of Stanley, are the newest owners of Treat O’clock Ice Cream Bike, an ice cream shop on wheels! Driving through the streets of Stanley with the familiar song of the nostalgic Ice Cream Trucks, they deliver cool treats on hot summer days. Offering classic popsicles, drumsticks, fudgesicles, creamsicles, Helados, ice cream bars and sandwiches, and now icy cold drinks, there’s sure to be something for everyone!
The idea for the ice cream bike sparked after a family trip to a local Stanley Park where they noticed that the Stanley community was missing an ice cream shop. Two days later the dream was born, and the bike was being made and on its way to the Witt family from Icicle Tricycles. Mike and Nikki then received their food vendor certification from the Health Department. After a soft opening in August 2022, Treat O’clock Ice Cream Bike officially became a limited liability company in January 2023.
Mike and Nikki, along with their 5-year-old daughter, Israella and 2 ½ year old twins, Winnie and Weildone, are happy to offer something new and exciting to the Stanley community. From his childhood in southern Wisconsin, Mike remembers buying ice cream from an ice cream man who rode his bike around town ringing a bell and now he gets to relive that memory as he drives through the town. Although instead of a bell, he plays the classic music through his iPhone. Part of that nostalgia and joy is what they hope to bring to the town along with a way for parents to share memories with their own children. “Small towns thrive on nostalgia,” Nikki remarks. “Someday these kids that are seeing us are going to grow up to be adults and then someday they will (say), I remember when I was a kid and we got ice cream from a bike.” She comments that the joy of the ice cream bike is “giving kids nowadays a memory that they can carry just like the older generation is doing now with the bike.” She adds that they get excited when people say, “I heard the music and I just had to find you.”
The ice cream bike is available to rent or for events such as birthdays, graduation parties, weddings, etc., as the schedule allows and can be stocked according to the customer’s preferences. Treat O’Clock Ice Cream bike posts their routes for the following week on their Facebook page so customers can find them easily if they want to satisfy their sweet tooth.
