Loretta Edith Olinski (née Micke) passed away the evening of June 1, 2025 with the love of her family around her.
Loretta was born October 21, 1931 in Thorp, Wisconsin to Anton and Margaret (née Benzschawel) Micke. She was raised on her family farm and attended Busy Bee School, St. Anne’s School and graduated from Stanley High School in 1950. While attending Eau Claire Vocational School, she worked at Samuelson’s Department Store. She then moved to Milwaukee and worked at Cutler Hammer.
Loretta met her future husband, Wally Olinski, at Mile Away Ballroom in Thorp. They married in 1956 and celebrated 56 years together. They had 4 children – Linda, Steven, Thomas and Sharon.
Loretta moved to Georgetown, Texas in 2019 to be with family, and she enjoyed bingo and the lottery, her great-granddaughters and the occasional brandy & Coke. She was a member of Queen of Apostles Parish.
Loretta is preceded in death by husband, Wally, daughter, Linda, sisters, Marie Ciokiewicz and Rita Micke, brother, Norbert Micke and great-granddaughter, Jordan Nicholls. A private service is being planned, and internment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
