The Oriole Cross Country season is over for 2024.
With Elihu Krenzelok and Mariah Wehling making all conference, the Orioles finished the season at Cadott. Head Cross Country coach Nick Mahr shared thoughts on the season’s outcome.
“We had a good performance for our last race,” he said. “Mariah Wehling stood out with her time of 21:39 in the girls race. That is a solid time and she placed 14th with it. So although she wasn’t in the mix fighting for one of the state-qualifying spots, it’s very good for a freshman. I believe she was the third fastest freshman girl in our sectional of 25 teams. We were seventh as a team, finishing behind Fall Creek. I would have liked to place ahead of them, but we know next year we’ll be a lot faster and are celebrating the growth we had this year and looking forward to next season.”
