Melvin “Mel” Kuehni, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Fridley on January 1, 2023 with family by his side.
Born November 20, 1931 in Worden WI.
Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Anna (Bernklau); brother, Elmer, and sister Marian ( George) Samplawski.
Survived by wife of 65 years, Joan (Dunn); daughters, Shari Lero and Rochelle (Norm) Hart; grandchildren, Kelsie Hart and Nicholas Lero.
Mel grew up as a farm boy in the Stanley/Boyd area of Wisconsin. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked many years as a draftsman and raised his family in Columbia Heights. MN. Mel enjoyed deer hunting (as recently as last year), playing cards at local Senior Centers, and getting great deals at estate sales. He has been a member of St Matthew Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights for 61 years and was also a member of the Fridley American Legion.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 14th at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at St Matthew Lutheran Church, 4101 Washington Street NE, Columbia Heights.
