Nicole Thiel hired by City First Day is December 28

Just in time for New Year’s, the City of Stanley has a new face down at City Hall—and she’s local! Applying with the candidates this August when Cynthianna Bergman resigned as Stanley’s Administrator/ Clerk-Treasurer, Nicole Thiel was approved by the Committee of the Whole meeting December 15 and set to be approved at Monday’s Council meeting after this paper goes to press, her first day being December 28.

Thiel comes to her new post with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Chippewa Valley technical College (CVTC). She has six children ranging in age from 18 to just eight, and is currently engaged to Larry Pilgrim. Prior to being approved by the city as the new Adminis-trator Clerk-Treasurer to take the place of Donelle Spaulding, Thiel worked for United-Healthcare (UHC), where she held several roles, including working directly with claims and most recently as a Billing Quality Audit Representative. Prior to UHC, she worked in an Information Technology or IT role.

14 years ago “after living in Menomonie and Chippewa Falls for short periods of time.” Upon starting her new post, Thiel will undergo some training with four days on the job her first week, Personnel Committee member and alderman Kevin Hendrickson made known. Thiel shared on why she chose to apply for the position she is soon to hold, pending Council approval on Monday December 21, after this paper goes to press.

“I have always had a passion for numbers,” she shared of how she came to the role she will take with the City of Stanley. “I have also been looking for ways to become more involved in the community in which I live. I felt that applying for this position would give me a great opportunity to do both of these things.”
