Noon Year's Eve Party at the Library!

On December 30th, the D.R. Moon Memorial Library hosted a festive Noon Year’s Eve celebration that allowed kids to ring in the upcoming New Year without staying up past bedtime! The library’s Noon Year’s Eve party was a hit with kids of all ages, offering a Make Your Own 2025 Hat craft, snacks, a scavenger hunt and, of course, a fun balloon drop at the stroke of noon. Children gathered around as Nikki Witt, Youth Services Coordinator, read ‘Snowflake in my Pocket’ by Rachel Bright, an engaging winter themed story. They then enjoyed a tasty snack of cupcakes, crackers, and delicious juice—perfect for celebrating. During the Noon Year’s Eve Scavenger Hunt, children eagerly searched for hidden pictures of New Year’s Eve symbols scattered throughout the library. It was a fun and interactive way to teach them about the traditions and symbols of New Year’s celebrations.
Events like the Noon Year’s Eve party are just one of the many ways the library continues its mission of offering engaging and educational programs for children and families while creating a sense of community and fun for all who visit. The D.R. Moon Memorial Library offers a children’s story time every other Thursday. In January, join story time on the 16th and 30th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Here’s to more fun, learning, and reading in 2025!
