On Monday, October 5 at a post-meeting contract signing, the City of Stanley entered into an agreement with Market and Johnson to build the new Chapman Park Community Center near the Truck and Tractor Pull track, for a stated total of $1.48 million. After a “change order” is put in whereby amendments to the building plan will be made and save the city money, that price tag should drop to just $1.361 million before grant and insurance—or at least, that’s the plan. Stanley Mayor Al Haas signs a contract between the City of Stanley and Market and Johnson for the building of the Chapman Park Community Center. Upon Haas completing the task, current City Administrator-Clerk-Treasurer Donelle Spaulding signed as well.
