S-B ORIOLE Oriole Boys Varsity team falls to McDonnell in seventh inning
Things were going well for Oriole Boys Varsity baseball team against McDonnell last Thursday at Oriole Park—until the seventh inning that is.
With a one run lead 5 – 4 against the Chippewa Falls private school, things fell apart after the bases were loaded by the Blue and White, while even a pitcher change on the Oriole’s part couldn’t fix things, as several walks and a deep field hit or two resulted in the ultimately insurmountable handicap of 11-5, in McDonnell’s favor. The Oriole’s number 21 Trentan Whisenant caught a deep field hit by McDonnell for an out to put an end to things run-wise on McDonnell’s part, while the subsequent turn at batting by Stanley- Boyd failed to stem the Blue and White gains, with just additional run batted in by the Orioles before it was over until the next game, the final game score against Mc-Donnell being 11 – 6.
