The Stanley-Boyd Oriole Boys Golf squad
.nished the covid shortened season on Tuesday
at Skyline Golf Course in Black River Falls.
In the two weeks prior, they started out by taking second place out of eleven teams at the Marsh.eld Country Club. Isaac Brenner shot
a much-improved round of 40 strokes. Mason Felmlee and Dominic Raffetto both came in with 45’s followed by Sasha Nitz 51 and Austen Seichter 57. On Tuesday May 18th the guys again came in second place with both Isaac Brenner and Dominic Raffetto shooting 42.
Mason Felmlee and Sasha Nitz both had 44’s and Austen Seichter shot 58. On Thursday the golfers had a tough round at Neillsville with Mason Felmlee our medalist with a 48 followed by Isaac Brenner 50, Sasha Nitz 53, Austen Seichter 60 and Keegan Peterson 67.
The Conference Match was our Skyline match where Mason Felmlee was our medalist shooting 93. Isaac Brenner had a 95, Dominic Raffetto shot 100, Sasha Nitz came in with a 106 and Austen Seichter a 130.
At the conclusion of the round awards were given for All-Conference. Two Oriole golfers, Sophomore Isaac Brenner and Senior Mason Felmlee gained Honorable Mention honors for the season.
The Junior Varsity team played at Neillsville on Tuesday May 18th. Keegan Peterson shot a 55 followed by Ashton Mercier 63, Andri Burzynski 68 and Joey Henderson 76.
The last match for the JVs was scheduled for the Eau Claire Country Club but weather cancelled after 7 holes.
One of our highlights for the season occurred in a practice round at Whispering Pines Golf Course last week when senior Mason Felmlee shot a Hole-In-One on hole number 4.
“I was extremely pleased how we progressively got better week after week both the Varsity and Junior Varsity showed a positive attitude which was re.ected by their improved
scores,” said golf coach Larry Norrell.
Mason Felmlee and Isaac Brenner received honorable mention.
