The Stanley-Boyd Cross Country team competed in Loyal on Tuesday, August 31. Janelle Schesel looks to lead the girls team again finishing
fourth out of sixty-one runners. Her teammates Alexa Liszews-
ki and Ady Gustafson finished
back-to-back in 24th and 25th places.
The boys team had a trio of top twenty performances out of sophomores Breckin Burzynski, Lukas Milas, and Zach Haas. They finished 9th, 15th, and 20th among a field of 77 area runners. Combined with juniors Dale Sayles and Joey Henderson they placed 4th out of 11 teams.
“It was a solid start to the season. It is good to get one race out and done so we know where we stand and can adjust our training and set our sites on those end of season PRs.” Coach Nick Mahr commented. “Of course I’m excited about the kids that medaled, but ev- eryone finishing and feeling
good about their race is the most rewarding feeling.”
