Coach says players did as asked, calls them winners
Close, but with work to do. Facing off with the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder Thursday, Jan. 5, the Lady Orioles came away with loss 65-25, while the following night against Bloomer the margin narrowed, to 60-59.
Currently ranked 6th in the Western Cloverbelt with a 1-3 conference record and 3-5 overall, the Orioles have done better at home than away over the season, with two wins and three losses at home compared to one win and two losses playing away. In spite of the week’s results head coach Alison Becker said the team did what was asked of it.
“We finished the week with a strong performance,” she said of the Bloomer game. “The team was focused and did everything I asked of them. Even though the score showed us losing by 1, the team were ‘winners’ in my book Friday night! We will continue to make small victories and get better everyday.
