The Oriole girls golf team headed to Mondovi on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with the varsity finishing third with 217 (+73) and junior varsity finished first with a 242 (+98).
Top varsity scorer at Mondovi was Caitlen Ketterhagen with 52 (+16), while top junior varsity was Gracelynn Goettl with a 60 (+24).
Coach Devon Wenndt summed up how things had gone for the team overall as of this Monday.
“Nothing life-altering,” he said. “Scores were pretty high at Mondovi, where the rough was as tough as we are going to see all year. A third place showing there was respectable, and it felt good to get right back out on the course the next day in Colfax to clean a few things up during their non-conference invitational. Today’s match is postponed and will be played next Monday. We will be running a double header that day...Whispering Pines at 11:30, Meadowview in Owen at 4:00. Busy stretch of golf this week and next.”
The Orioles now play the PFC Golf Club Meet at Clear Lake on Thursday, Sept. 17. Start time is 3:15 p.m.
