Stanley-Boyd is headed to sectionals for Division 3.
Defeating Marathon Thursday at home followed by Stratford on Saturday, the Orioles will advance to play Barron at Barron on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
“We played very well as a team on Saturday to beat Stratford for the Regional Final plaque! Everyone on the team made a great impact in getting the win in 3 sets. We had a game plan and stuck to it, which in turn shut Stratford down. The coaching staff and I are very proud of what the girls accomplished Saturday night!” Coach Karley Wiensch said of the contest with Stratford to become regional champions. “Our passing, setting and hitting was on. We capitalized and served aggressively to take Stratford out of system.”
Match scores against Marathon were 25-21, 25-13, 25-21, while those against Stratford on Saturday were 25-12, 25-12, and 25-16. Stanley-Boyd took the number one seed to play the winner of the Marathon-Tomahawk match in this year’s bracket.
Should they advance against Barron they will play at Arcadia on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:00 p.m.
