Coming out of the Medford tournament Saturday, Stanley- Boyd took home wins in three of four matches played.
The Wednesday prior at Cadott, the Orioles took away a 3-0 match win with set scores of 25 – 16, 25 – 17, and 26 – 24 respec tively. Head coach Karley Wiensch shared some thoughts after the tournament finished.
“I think that the tournament went well, Wiensch said. “We won our pool in the morning by beating Three Lakes and Gilman and were then placed in the Gold Bracket." Playing Amery next the Orioles came away with three wins at Medford, falling only to Columbus Catholic.
“We played Amery,” Wiensch. “We then had to play Columbus Catholic who is ranked 2nd in Division Four. We played well together and pushed through being tired and sore towards the end of the tournament. We ended up losing to Columbus Catholic in 2 sets of 22-25 and 19-25. I believe that this tournament helped us build our confi dence going into this busy week of Confer- ence play against Fall Creek on Tuesday and Bloomer on Thursday.”
The Orioles next play Bloomer Sept. 29 at Bloomer, with match play starting at 7:15 p.m.
