Traveling to Aquinas High School at La Crosse on Saturday September 2, the Oriole volleyball varsity team came away with a 3-1 record for the tournament, placing third out of twelve teams.
Facing off first with Elmwood-Plum City, the Orioles scored 25-19 in the first set and 25-23 in the second, for a 2-0 win over the EPC Wolves.
Next facing Prairie du Chien, the Orioles came away with 25-22 in the first set before logging a 20-25 loss in the second, to bounce back with a 15-12 win in the third, for a 2-1 record against the
Prairie du Chien Blackhawks.
Rolling from its first two match sets to face Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, the Orioles aced both sets, coming away with scores of 25-23 and 25-22 from each respective match.
Facing off last with Cotter from Winona Minnesota, the outcome was less auspicious for Stanley-Boyd, coming away with match scores of 20-25 and 9-25 against the private school.
The Orioles varsity next compete at Merrill on September 9. Invitational start is at 9 a.m.
