The Cross country season is over for this year, but Stanley-Boyd can look back with pride. Orioles Head Cross Country Coach Nick Mahr reflected on the Conference Meet and season end.

“We mostly placed where we expected to,” he said. “Lucy Wundrow and Addy Mahr ran better than ever, both getting their PR’s. Lucy was able to earn Honorable Mention All-Conference, which was my goal for her. Her time of 22:11 was very good for her. Breckin Burzynski, in the boys race, was also Honorable Mention All-Conference, but was one step behind a Thorp runner for 2nd team All-Conference in 18:10. Lucas Walker turned in a good time of 17:04 and placed 6th overall against tough competition,” Coach Mahr said.

With Lucas Walker going on to run at state and finish with a time of , the team had a good year, the focus now on preparing for next year.

“As a team we put up some good times and everyone should feel good about the improvement they had during the season,” Mahr said. “It will be tough to replace the four senior boys that we had this year. Our two girls really improved in the past month and we have some middle school kids with talent that will bolster their ranks next season so I’m excited to see how well our girls will do next year.”
