Oriole XC competes at Thorp invitational

Stanley-Boyd Cross Country competed in the Thorp Invitational Thursday, Oct. 9, competing at the Conley Course east of town.
Located on Fisher Avenue, the 3200 meter Conley Course covers woods and field alike, fluctuating some 120.4 meters in height over its length.
The high school boys placed fourth with a score of 95, while the high school girls placed third with a score of 86.
The middle school boys placed third with a score of 46, while the middle school girls also placed third with a score of 69.
Individual Oriole results were as follows.
Starting with the high school boys, John Smit placed ninth with a time fo 18:10, followed by Cameron Natzke in 14th with a time of 18:50. Hunter Ogle took 18th with a time of 19:18, while Seth Lilla placed 37th with time of 21:19. Eli Lilla placed 43rd with a time of 22:06, followed by Lance Kelly with a time of 23:22. Ben Henderson finished 49th with a time of 24:02.
As for the high school girls, Hailey Shakal took ninth for the high school girls with a time of 21:40, while Lucy Wundrow took 11th with a time of 22:10. Ava Prahl took 19th with a time of 24:20, Mayah Mahr took 39th with a time fo 28:51, and Ziva Blair took 43rd with a time of 29:54.
In middle school boy results, Michael Toepfer finished sixth with a time of 12:36, followed by Thomas Smit in 13th with time of 13:05. Zander Kelly finished 14th with a time of 13:13, while Logan Stuttgen finished 18th with a time of 13:37. Finnegan Cody finished 19th with a time of 13:39, while Collin Ogle finished 20th with a time of 13:41. Emmet Czubakowski finished 27th with a time of 14:15. Other times from Stanley-Boyd middle school boys include Caiden Pelekoudas in 31st with time of 14:41, Nathan Weimeyer in 37th with a time of 15:41, Greg Lane in 46th with a time of 17:24, and Ian Wehling in 49th with a time of 17:55.
Times for middle school girls include Aaliyah Prissel in seventh with a time of 13:31, Quinn Hendzel in 13th with a time of 14:35, Evelyn Czubakowski in 18th with time of 15:15, Edlyn Wundrow in 20th with a time of 15:16, Natalie Lilla in 34th with a time of 16:32, and Josslyn McMurray in 40th with a time of 17:08.
Orioles Head Cross Country Coach Nick Mahr shared more after results were in.
“The Orioles cross country team raced in Thorp on Thursday, Oct. 9, “ he said. “Four of the runners posted their best times of the season, despite this not being the easiest or flattest course of the season. Freshman Hunter Ogle had the best gain, posting a 19:18. That was over a minute faster than his personal best. Other runners posting their PRs were Seth Lilla, Ben Henderson, and Lucy Wundrow. The Orioles rested three runners with minor injuries to prepare for the upcoming Cloverbelt Conference Championship at Meadowview Golf Course in Owen this coming Saturday, Oct. 18.”
