Baseball is over for the season, closing against Elk Mound in a May 25 regional playoff, the final score 12 - 1 in the Mounders favor.
The result brings the Oriole season record to 6-13-0 overall ranked fifth in the Western Cloverbelt.
Preceding the regional against Elk Mound the Orioles played a non-conference crossover game against Edgar as well as one against Owen-Withee, losing to Edgar 12 - 4 but winning against Owen-Withee 3 -1. Orioles head coach Ryan Sturm reflected on the regular season game against Owen-Withee May 19.
“We played a clean game without any errors and our pitchers threw strikes,” he said. “Tate Derks came up clutch with a couple of hits. It was a fun game to participate in.”
