Orioles compete at Chi-Hi Invitational Saturday

Competing at Chi-Hi over the weekend Saturday, Jan. 13, the Oriole varsity wrestlers took home a variety of results in terms of finishing.
Placing first in the 132-pound weight class, Troy Trevino (21-6) scored 26 team points and won by decision (7-1) in the first place match over Memphis Demain (11-7) of Hayward/Northwood .
Taking second in the 285-pound weight class meanwhile was Willy Graham (26-7), winning by Fall (1:52) over Blaine Severson (25-2) of Mondovi/Eleva in Round 6, and scoring 26 team points.
Placing fourth in the 126-pound weight class, Darrin Dorn (15-15) scored 18 team points, losing by Fall (2:39) to Trey Becker (23-12) of Chippewa Falls in the 3rd place match Saturday.
Also contending for the Orioles were Steven Lin (2-20) in the 120-pound weight class with a seventh place finish, Brody Westrom (13-18) in the 150 pound weight class with a sixth place finish, Candin Yeager (15-12) in the 150-pound weight class with a fifth place finish, Aaron Sturm (10-8) in the 157-pound weight class with a fifth place finish, Dylan Seichter (23-10) in the 190-pound weight class with a sixth place finish, and Carter Weltzin (7-18) in the 215 pound weight class with sixth place finish.
As for team points on Saturday, Lin contributed 10, Dorn 18, Sturm 16, Seichter 14, and Weltzin 14.
The Orioles placed seventh overall in Saturday’s competition, a varsity wrestling quad at Osseo-Fairchild on Thursday, Jan. 18 being their next competition.
