Facing off with the Fall Creek Crickets Friday at Fall Creek, the Stanley-Boyd Oriole varsity pulled off its third win of the season, coming away with a final score of 26-14 for the night.
The win makes a 3-0 record for the Orioles so far this season, being ranked fourth in the Cloverbelt.
Highlights of the game included a 16-yard pass by Carter Isenberger to Madden Mahr in the first quarter, a three yard touchdown run by Landon Karlen, kickoff return for touchdown by Mahr after handoff by Karlen, and a 17-yard pass by Isenberger to Jake LaGrander, as well as 25 yard pass by Isenberger to Karlen, and a 17 yard touchdown pass to Mahr. Last but not least was a 59 yard touchdown run by Rudy Kletsch, making for an eventful night on the Oriole’s side.
As to overall game stats, Friday’s game saw the Orioles make 333 total yards, compared to 267 for Fall Creek. Of those 333 yards, 232 were for rushing and 101 for passing.
In addition, the Orioles saw eight turnovers to three for the Crickets, while they had seven fumbles, Fall Creek making 0. The Orioles had one interception for the night while the Crickets had three. The third down conversion record for the Orioles at Fall Creek was 1-12 while Fall Creek saw 6-18 for the night.
Winning the game at Fall Creek with a 26-14 final score, the Orioles play McDonell on Friday September 8 at Oriole Park. Game start is 7 p.m.
