Hosting several opponents Dec. 22, the Orioles held a Pre-Holiday Wrestlig Scramble at Stanley-Boyd Dec. 22.
Following a warmup period, things took off at 4 p.m., with three mats spread across the high school gym floor, wrestling non-stop at each mat through late afternoon. With Breckin Burzynski (14-0) placing first in the 138 pounds boys weight class and Anna Krizan (5-1) second in the 107-pound girls weight class, senior Troy Trevino (5-3) placing third in the 132-pound boys weight class. Other notable results included Landen Hoel (11-3) placing third in the 144-pound weight class, Willy Graham also placing third in the 285-pound weight class. Candin Yeager (8-6) placed second in the 157-pound weight class Dec. 22.

As to Krizan, Burzynski said that “she wrestled a very good match against a returning state place winner. She has some small things to clean up, but she has a very bright future. She finished second on the day.”
Additionally, Burzynski said that Candin Yeager, “made his first final of his high school career. He went 3-2 on the night with both losses coming to the same person. Overall, Burzynski said that “We continue to improve as a team. We are getting guys to weight; we are getting kids back from injury. As long as our wrestlers continue to be coachable and work hard, good things will happen.”
