Orioles make quick work of Osseo-Fairchild

Osseo-Fairchild had to know it had its hands full with Stanley-Boyd very early in Friday night’s game at Oriole Park. On the opening drive, quarterback Carsen Hause drove the team downfield and hit Cooper Nichols out of the backfield for an 11-yard touchdown.

From there, the Orioles continued to roll, putting 23 points on the board in the first quarter en route to a 49-12 thumping of the Thunder.

The stingy Oriole defense was on its game, holding Osseo-Fairchild to just late touchdowns. The game upped the Oriole mark in the Cloverbelt Conference to 4-2.

It was the final regular season game at Oriole Park, and post=-season play is still under wraps at the WIAA, though it appears as if there will be at least two playoff games for teams who advance. The regular season wraps up for Stanley-Boyd

at Mondovi Friday night in a battle of two 4-2 teams looking for one more win to beef up their post-season resume.

Following that opening drive, Jake Nesterick lit up the scoreboard again for the Orioles with a 24-yard touchdown run. After another S-B stop, Mike Karlen kicked a 34-yard field goal to make the score 16-0. Just before the close of the first quarter, Karlen ran 36 yards for a touchdown.

Karlen closed out the S-B scoring in the second quarter with a four-yard run that made the intermission score 30-6.

Hause picked up where the Orioles left off in the third quarter, hitting Lucas Smith for a 35-yard touchdown pass. Touchdowns by Karlen and Dominic Raffetto closed out the Oriole scoring for the game.
