“These were some good base performances to start the outdoor season, which will be really short,” Coach Seidl said following the meet at Bloomer April 28. "We will have to improve a lot in the next three weeks. Our relays were not very good tonight. We have to really work on handous to turn in solid relay times. We now have an idea about what we we to do. If the weather improves we will need to work hard to stay competitive with our conference rivals." With results now in for the May 3 track meet at Mosinee, these are the followup results, or a select sample of them.
In the first place, Candin Yeager scored 7-06.00 in the pole vault, while Cooper Nichols took 11-06.00 in the same.
For girls high jump Teagen Becker scored 05-01.00, while Sydney Gundlach scored 4-00.00 Moving from girls high jump to the boys, Carsen Hause scored 5-10.00, while for girls long jump Maralyn Boettcher took 14-08.00 and Adyson Gustafson took 12-08.75.
Meanwhile, Bethany Pilgrim took 13-00.00.
For the boys long jump Jake LaGrander took 16-01.00.
Shifting over to results from the home track meet Friday, here are some top scores.
In the girls 100-meter dash, Maralyn Boettcher scored 13.75 in the finals, while in the 200-meter dash Boettcher made a final time of 28.63.
In the 400-meter dash at home Friday, Janelle Schesel came away with a time of 1:054.16 in the finals, while Boettcher fol – lowed Schesel with a time of 1:08.00 in same for the first round, with 1:12.00 in the finals.
As to the girls 1600-meter run Leslie Derks made a time of 5:59.00 in the first round, com ing away with 6:06.00 in the second.
In the girls 100-meter hurdles, meanwhile, Addison Mahr scored a time of 19.44 in the first round, coming away with 19.55 in the finals. Carly Verbeten took 20.07 in the first round.
The Orioles next compete at Cadott Friday, the action staring at 4:30 p.m.
