Nearing the home stretch for the 2023-24 basketball season, the Orioles boys varsity stands 5-5 in conference and 7-11 overall, currently ranked fifth in the Western Cloverbelt.
As for individual player stats, Henry Hoel leads the boys varsity with an average of 21.2 points per game, followed by Haydn Gustafson with 18.23 and Carter Isenberger with 5.6 points per game.
Leading the team in other area stats as well, Hoel currently has 14.7 rebounds per game with 3.9 assists. Landon Karlen is second in rebounds with 3.8 per game, while Gustafson is second in assists, averaging 3 per game.
With regard to team stats for the boys varsity, Stanley-Boyd has played a total of 17 games this season, averaging 31.2 rebounds per game to 23 for opponents. Out of a total 531 Orioles rebounds, 153 of them were on offense while 378 were on defense.
As to game scores, the past three games have included two losses and one win, falling to Bloomer Jan. 16 by four points (55-59) and Fall Creek Jan. 25 (59-75), while scoring a 83-71 win against Osseo-Fairchild.
Having faced Cadott at Cadott Jan. 30 after press time, the Orioles play Thorp Friday, Feb. 2 at home. Game start is 7:15 p.m.
