Taking to the floor at Stanley-Boyd Thursday, the Oriole boys varsity chalked up a win against the Regis Ramblers, the final score coming out 78-65, in the Orioles favor. The home win Thursday came after a 61-39 loss to McDonell in an away game at McDonell Jan. 5.
Starting with a seven point lead at the end of the first half against Regis, the Orioles were able to hold onto and grow this, 46 of their points coming in the second half compared with 40 for Regis.
Contributing big to the final point tally Thursday, Henry Hoel finished Thursday with 22 game points while Haydn Gustafson made a total of 20, including 5 two-pointers and 3 three pointers. Senior Landon Karlen scored 9 points with three game fouls, while junior Logan Gray logged 8 points and one foul, followed with 4 free throws in the second.Also contributing to the Oriole point spread against Regis were senior JJ Heller (7 points), junior Carter Isenberger (4 points), and senior Riley Weltzin (8 points).
