The Stanley Area Sportsman’s Club is holding a benefit fish contest at Otter Lake Saturday, June 7 from 7 a.m. to noon. All proceeds from the contest will go to fish stocking and improvements of Otter Lake.
The contest will feature six fish categories and offers $900 cash in fish prizes as well as $3,000 in cash prizes. The six fish categories are northern, walleye, bass, crappie, bluegill, and perch. First prize for each is $75, second $50, and third is $25. All fish must be weighed alive and in by 12 noon. Fish must be legal size and slot size, with the first fish weighed breaking any ties. Entrants can only win once per category.
Also with the fishing contest, tickets for the 50/50 raffle are $10 each or three for $20 and will be sold at all four boat landings the day of the contest from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Cash prizes include a grand prize of $1,000 in cash, with additional prizes of $500, $400, $300, $200, and $100, as well as 10 $50 prizes. One need not be present to win these prizes.
Advance tickets are on sale at Oemig’s Sport Shop, Otter Lake Bait and Camp Store, the Curve Inn, Shady Nook Resort, Foxx’s Den, Hill House, Kelly Grill, Debbie’s on Broadway, Cindy’s in Thorp, Huron Bar, and JJ’s in Cadott.
