Position sought?

Judge for the Court of Appeals in District 3

Why are you seeking this post?

For the past nine years, I have had the honor of serving the citizens of Outagamie County as a trial court judge. While I love this position, I am pursing the Court of Appeals to be able to help serve a broader selection of the state. To that same end it was important to bring my experience as a trial judge to the level as much of the work of an appellate judge entails reviewing what transpired at the trial court level.

What sets you apart from your opponent?

While I certainly commend Mr. Cveykus for his desire to enter public service. At this time, I am the only candidate with judicial experience. This I feel is significant for a multitude or reasons. First, the Court of Appeals is called to review the work of trial judges. Understanding the work of a trial judge is imperative to being able to render a just decision. Second, I have a track record by which the voters can review the validity of my judicial philosophy of textualism or judicial restraint. I believe that judges should make decisions based on the law as written and not as I would like it to be. My track record bears this out. Finally, my experience bears out that I treat all litigants fairly and with respect and dignity.

Final Appeal:

It is a pleasure to be able to serve as a member of the judiciary in this great state. I appreciate your consideration of my candidacy and would be honored to have you vote for me on April 6, 2021. Should I be fortunate enough to be elected, be rest assured that I will be a judge for all the citizens of Wisconsin.
