Filled in by Mark Fitzsimmons and following discussion at the Dec. 5, meeting, the Council moved to allocate $130,000 in ARPA funds to road work on roads shared with the county. Areas to be addressed in the work include mill and overlay on North Franklin Street, as well as work near the entrance to Forward Bank and by Expressmart, with Broadway near Highway 29 waiting until later, as this would involve the state as well as county.
Also covered at the Dec. 5 meeting, dog kennel license fees will be $150 come the new year, necessary for 3 or more dogs with up to 12 tags covered. The fee hike matches the cost charged by Boyd as Stanley’s kennel license fees have been low in comparison to other municipalities for the present.
