FROM PAGE 1 imum of 500 tickets must be sold in order to qualify, these selling for $1.00 each. With ticket sales accounting for just 1/3 of the points to win, the remainder will be determined from a prepared speech to last between three to five minutes, along with a series of questions before the contest.

Preparation and poise will be important, as no notes will be allowed for the speech, to be given before three judges.

Tickets are now on sale for those interested in supporting a given candidate, with all transactions requiring a signature. Upon being crowned at this year’s Rodeo, Miss Stanley 2021 will reign along with her court to the following year, when a successor will be chosen. So who’s in the running for 2021? Four names, to be exact.

The first candidate for Miss Stanley 2021 is 16-year-old Jasmine Sanchez, daughter of Jennifer and Adam Cornell, along with Ruben and Rebecca Gonzalez. Jennifer’s siblings include Ruben, Annabelle, Abe and Sophi Sanchez, who tragically passed away in December.

For hobbies, Jennifer enjoys drawing, painting, jewelry making, makeup and church. In school activities and community involvement, Jennifer lists church, wrestling management, FBLA, and Debbie’s on Broadway.

Asked as to why she would make a good Miss Stanley, Jennifer had the following to share. “I think I would be a great Miss Stanley because I want to show my gratitude to the community that has always supported me and my family,” she said. “I have always tried my best to help others, and this would be a great way to do that.”

Following Jennifer as a candidate for Miss Stanley is 17-year-old Alexis Cardwell, the daughter of Cheryl and James Cardwell.

With no siblings listed on the questionnaire, Alexis enjoys spending time with friends and family, listing “girls on the run” for school activities and community involvement.

As to why she would make a good Miss Stanley, Alexis had the following to say: “I would like to be Miss Stanley because I feel it would be a good opportunity for me to meet new people. I would love to try out new things and have fun!”

Following Alexis as a candidate for Miss Stanley is 17-year-old Ali Starck, daughter of Terry and Debra Starck.

With four siblings named Ashley, Ryan, Amilee, and Adalyn, Ali lists “working and spending time with family” as among her hobbies and interests.

Asked as to why she would make a good Miss Stanley, Ah hadthe followingto share: “I love helping people and love to be involved in the community,” she said. “I would be a great role model for the younger generation.”

Last but not least in the four candidate Miss Stanley contest this year is 17-year-old Hannah Hazard, daughter of Andrea and Travis Hazard.

Hannah’s siblings are Josh and Jacob Hazard.

As to hobbies and interests, Hannah lists, “reading, being with friends, relaxing” and gaming.

For school activities and community involvement, meanwhile, Hannah is involved in the FFA, FBLA, NHS, Student Council, Rodeo Committee, and “various volunteer events within the community.”
