Two competing for Miss Boyd title; food, rides and free music also provided at festival

Ringelspiel is here, kicking ou Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Small Pavilion with the Miss Boyd contest.

With two Boyd residents running for the title, here’s a summary of each contestant and their qualifications. Starting out the contestant list is Felicity Conley, a Stanley- Boyd junior and the daughter of Jessica and Christian Conley. Felicity has a 14-yearold brother named Max.

In addition Felicity is also active in track, basketball, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), as well as the Jobs for America Program (JAG).

As to community activities, she has participated in tornado cleanup euorts, gardening for the elderly, and fundraising for the school, as well as giving a speech to 68th Asembly representative Jesse James. Her hobbies and interests include reading and spending quality time with friends. As to future plans, Felicity looks to study Marine Biology in college and is said to be looking at UW-Madison.

As to the other contestant, her name is Mackenzie Stefanakos. A sophomore at Stanley- Boyd, Mackenzie is the daughter of Dayna and David Gossage, with seven siblings: Zoë, Ava, Jerzee, Brylee, Hailee, Avery, and Mattix.

As to school activities, Mackenzie is involved in JAG and is the secretary class of- ficer for 10th grade. She also helps mentor kids after school FESTIVAL

in grades four to eight.

For community activities, Mackenzie lists helping with concession stand for her sibling’s sporting events.

As to hobbies and interests, these include music, singing, and drawing. She also loves spending time with family and friends. As to future plans, Mackenzie looks to be either a teach or a cosmetologist. With the Miss Boyd contest at 7 p.m. Friday in the Small Pavilion, here’s what to look forward to in terms of after the contest, per Spectrum Entertainment.

“There’s going to be games, there’s going to be the carnival food,” Dan Barbacovi said of what to expect in terms of Ringelspiel ouerings this weekend. Also in things to expect are free music in the Big Pavilion, a new fun house, a walk -through glass house, bumper cars, swings, a bounce house, a slide, a dinosaur ride, the return of the upside-down “Loop O’ Plane, either spin the bears or spin the pumpkins, and possi- bly a pirate ship. With four to five big rides and four tot five small rides, tickets for Ringelspiel can be purchased for $25 at the gate.
