At its July 9th meeting held at the Town Hall on Center Road, the Town of Thorp Board appointed Roger Slowiak as the new First Supervisor. The appointment comes after former First Supervisor Bob Kodl was approved to the role of Chairman, following the resignation of the previous board chair.
Slowiak, a resident of the Town of Thorp, brings both familiarity and continuity to the board. He is the first cousin of former town supervisor Andy Slowiak, continuing a family tradition of local public service.
Chairman Kodl welcomed Slowiak as he took his seat at the board table. Slowiak’s appointment was met with unanimous approval, as board members expressed optimism about his addition to the team.
“But we’re still looking for more,” Kodl commented, referencing ongoing efforts to fill additional supervisory roles and strengthen the town’s leadership.
With several transitions taking place within the board, residents are encouraged to consider serving. Board meetings remain open to the public, and those interested in participating in local government are urged to attend.
For updates and information on board vacancies, residents can contact Town Clerk Arlene Kodl, or any member of the Town of Thorp Board.
