In a close 1-point road loss at Regis last Thursday, the Orioles took a 28-22 lead into halftime. The Ramblers outscored them 38-31 in the second stanza to win.
Brady Ingersoll led the Orioles in scoring with 17 and Carsen Hause wasn’t far behind with 16 after he made five shots from outside the arc. Lucas Smith added another 10 in the first half and Brady Potaczek finished with nine.
“We battled for the entire game. Carsen was hot from the outside and Brady Ingersoll was healthy again after a battle with the flu for a couple weeks and led the team with 17 points,” Coach Tom Hause said. “We tied it with a minute to go and worked the ball to get a great look from three but it didn’t fall. Regis scored on the next possession and we made a free throw and had to foul after that.”
Branton Paulsrud and Abe Rocksvold led the Ramblers in scoring, combining for 30 points.
Saturday, the Orioles hosted Saint Croix Central in a non-conference matchup. The 145 Panthers had won six of their last seven games and sit comfortably at fourth in the Middle Border Conference.
The Panthers won 87-67. Brady Potaczek led the Orioles with 18 points and Carsen Hause was close behind with 16 of his own. Brady Ingersoll and Cooper Nichols both scored nine and Lucas Smith, Spencer Booth and Jacob Schneider combined for the other 15 Oriole points.
The Orioles headed to Osseo-Fairchild Tuesday and play at Fall Creek on Friday, February 21st. The Thunder are 3-9 in conference and the Crickets are 5-7.
