“We don’t have to because the seats are atlarge,” Stanley-Boyd Administrative Assistant Renee Mahal said in response to whether three candidates for two seats would mean a primary. With the spring election coming April 6, three people have officially filed for consideration by fellow district residents to serve on the Stanley- Boyd School Board: Chad Verbeten, Ryan Lewallen, and Lori Klonowski-Cooley. While anyone in the district may vote for a given candidate, the candidates themselves must reside in the area they seek election to represent. As such, Verbeten currently serves as Area One Representative for the townships of Edson, Thorp, Wilson, Worden, and Butler. He is being challenged for the Area One seat by Klonowski- Cooley, a resident of the Township of Edson. Lewallen represents Area Four in the district, said area defined as the City of Stanley and is running unoposed on the ballot.
