The Stanley-Boyd varsity golf team opened its week with a strong showing Tuesday, April 21, at Lake Wissota Golf Course, placing multiple golfers near the top of the leaderboard. The team placed second overall with a score of 157 (+13), behind Bloomer but ahead of Cadott.
Carsen Woodcock led the Orioles at Lake Wissota with an even-par 36, finishing second overall. The junior’s steady round set the tone early and kept Stanley-Boyd in contention throughout the meet.
Brenner Myers was close behind, shooting a 38 (+2) to take third place, giving the Orioles two of the top three finishers. Derrick Lato also cracked the top 10 with a 40 (+4), placing ninth and adding another key score for the team.
Connor Goebel contributed a 43 (+7), finishing 16th, while Ryan Starck rounded out the lineup with a 47 (+11) for 25th place.
Following Lake Wissota, the boys varsity competed Wednesday, April 22, at Whitetail Golf Course, facing a deep field and a challenging course setup.
Carsen Woodcock led the Orioles with a strong round of 78 (+7), finishing fourth overall. The junior continued to pace the team with consistent play, keeping Stanley-Boyd competitive near the top of the standings.
Brenner Myers followed with an 82 (+11), placing 19th. Myers provided a solid second score, navigating the course well despite tough conditions.
Derrick Lato added an 84 (+13), good for 27th place, while Ryan Starck shot a 94 (+23) to finish 60th. Connor Goebel rounded out the varsity lineup with a 107 (+36), placing 81st. The team placed seventh overall with a score of 338 (+54).
At Whispering Pines in Cadott the following day, Stanley-Boyd turned in a steady, competitive performance, showcasing depth across its lineup in a conference meet. The team placed third overall at Cadott with a team score of 166 (+22).
Leading the way for the Orioles was junior Carsen Woodcock, who carded a 39 (+3) to finish second overall. Woodcock, delivered a composed round, staying consistent from tee to green and putting Stanley-Boyd in early contention.
Close behind was Brenner Myers, who finished fourth with a 40 (+4). Myers provided a strong complementary score, keeping the Orioles firmly in the mix among the top teams.
Connor Goebel added another solid round, shooting a 41 (+5) to place seventh overall. His effort gave Stanley-Boyd three golfers inside the top 10—an important benchmark for team success in conference play.
Further down the lineup, Derrick Lato posted a 46 (+10), finishing 23rd, while Ryan Starck rounded out the varsity five with a 47 (+11) for 25th place. Both players battled through the course and contributed valuable strokes toward the team total.
With three golfers finishing in the top seven and all five players completing their rounds, Stanley-Boyd demonstrated both balance and resilience on a challenging course. The Orioles will look to build on that momentum as the season continues.
