The Stanley Movie Theater will host a Santa Free Show on Saturday, Dec. 20, with movie showings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Now a decades old tradition, the annual free show is a first come, first serve event, with doors open 45 minutes before each showtime. On the silver screen this year is Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch.
Rated PG, the (animated) Grinch is about a cynical grinch and his dog Max, living on Mount Crumpet above Whoville. Aggravated each year by the town’s Christmas celebration, the Grinch launches a plot to steal Christmas cheer from Whoville, only to see his plans backfire.
Stanley Movie Theater owner Theresa Pries shared more on the free show for this year.
“We are honored to continue the Santa Free Show tradition and be a part of families’ legacies and to create new, affordable memories in the Stanley community,” she said. “Spread the word and let’s fill the movie house!”
Sponsors for the free show at the Stanley Movie Theater this year include the Stanley Area Chamber of Commerce, Village Haus of Boyd, Corner Bar of Boyd, Tolley’s Bowl of Boyd, DJ’s Mart of Stanley, Plombon’s Funeral Home, Halterman’s Truck Sales, Junker Septic Services, Stanley Tire, The Gutterman, Hazuga’s True Value, Boyd Catering, Conley’s Hill House, and Broadway Home.
Come on out to the Santa Free Show at the Stanley Movie Theater on Saturday, Dec. 20!
