A Saturday morning meeting on North Broadway outside Open Doors between a tan Chevy Surburban and a blue/gray Pontiac has left both vehicles with accident damage, but no fatalities. The driver of the Pontiac was transported from the scene by Boyd-Edson-Delmar Ambulance and later released.
The Saturday collision in north Stanley took place when a tan-colored Chevy Suburban driven by David Back westbound on on Sixth Avenue, and a northbound Pontiac driven by Nicholas Rentana, collided with each other.
While taking place nearby, neither driver involved in the accident is a student at nearby Open Doors Academy. The alternative school at 517 North Broadway allows a means for students who may not thrive in a traditional setting to earn their high school diploma, and is run by the district at the former site of At Your Serevice Electric.
As a result of the crash, a person from the Pontiac was transported by ambulance, but later released. Both vehicles were later towed from the scene with varying amounts of damage.
