SCA’s Fall Festival benefits Play Big, Dream Bigger Project

The Stanley Community Association held their third annual Fall Festival at the Stanley Boyd High School on Sept. 7. The indoor event, which aimed to raise funds for Play Big Dream Bigger, the Chapman Park inclusive playground and splashpad fund project, showcased the project while including delicious concessions, bingo, and over twenty craft and vendor booths. The Stanley Community Pool was also open until 3 p.m. for patrons and community members to swim and climb the Giant Water Obstacle Course (GWOC.) Three door prizes were raffled which were awarded to Athena from Eau Claire, Julie Lindgren, and Becca Johnson from Stanley. A popular item at the festival was the raffle tickets for the Packers vs. Lions game at Lambeau Field on Nov. 3. Tickets are still available at $20 per ticket and can be purchased at Debbie’s on Broadway, the Stanley Police Department, Modern Beauty, or by contacting the Stanley Community Association. The second prize is $500 cash, the third prize is $300 cash and all proceeds from raffle sales go towards Play Big Dream Bigger, the Chapman Park inclusive playground and splashpad fund project. The drawing will be held on Oct.1 at Forward Bank.
On the decision to change the festival to an indoor location this year, SCA President Kristi Weiland commented, “We feel it was the right move to change the location to indoors. Even though the weather was better this year, our vendors didn’t have to deal with the cool morning or wind.” She shared, “We are happy with the size of the crowd for our first year at the school and hope it is something we can continue to be consistent with and have it grow more each year.”
