AP Test results are in for Stanley-Boyd, and they are good.
Offered as an economical way to earn college credits, AP tests effectively allow students to test out of college classes if they get a high enough score. With English, Math, and Social Studies all among options, these are the most recent test scores for Stanley-Boyd.
Starting with AP scores for AB Calculus, results show that 16 Stanley-Boyd students took the opportunity to test out of college, with the result that 87.5 percent scored 3 or higher for a means score of 3.69, above the state averages of 68.1 percent and 3.30.
More specifically, the test saw two students score a ‘2,’ three students score a ‘3,’ nine students score a ‘4,’ and two students score a ‘5.’
No students scored a ‘1,’ the lowest possible score.
One student took BC Calculus, the score not shared as it could identify the student.
Moving to Pre-Calc, results from the AP exam show that 40 Stanley-Boyd students took the test with 90 percent of these scoring a ‘3’ or higher. The mean score for AP Pre-Calc at Stanley-Boyd was 3.33, below the state average of 3.72, while those scoring ‘3’ or higher roughly matched the state average of 90.4 percent. The global average for scoring ‘3’ or higher on AP Pre-Calc is 80.8 percent while the average score is 3.55.
Overall results from Stanley-Boyd AP Pre-Calc show that three students scored a ‘1,’ one student scored a ‘2,’ 20 students scored a ‘3,’ 12 students scored a ‘4,’, and for students scored a ‘5.’
Next in AP test results from Stanley-Boyd is Statistics, where nine students scored took the test, resulting in a mean score of 2.67, below the state average of 3.03 and global average of 2.92. A total 55.6 percent of those who took AP Statistics at Stanley-Body received a ‘3’ or higher, with four receiving a ‘2,’ four receiving a ‘3’, one receiving a ‘4,’ and none receiving a ‘1’ or ‘5.’
Also in AP Test results from Stanley-Boyd, AP English Language and Composition results show that 38 Orioles took the test. Of this, a total of 68.4 percent scored a ‘3’ or higher, with a mean score of 2.95. More specifically, three students scoring a ‘1’, 11 scoring a ‘2,’ 17 scoring a ‘3,’ seven scoring a ‘4,’ and two scoring a ‘5.’
Next in AP Test results was AP Literature, with 31 students taking the chance to earn college credit. Of these, 83.9 percent soccer a ‘3’ or higher, roughly approximating the state average of 84.6 percent and exceeding the global average of 74.2 percent. The mean score for those Orioles who took AP Literature was 3.10, above the state average of 3.47 and global average of 3.24. breaking things down, five students scored a ‘2,’ 19 students scored a ‘3,’ six students scored a ‘4,’ and one student scored a ‘5.’ No students scored a ‘1,’ with ‘1’ the otherwise lowest score possible.
Continuing results with AP Psychology, results from Stanley-Boyd show three students took the test, with the mean score coming out to 2.0. Of these one scored a ‘1,’ one scored a ‘2,’ and one student scored a ‘3.’ No students scored a ‘4’ or ‘5,’ AP Psychology being a new offering at Stanley-Boyd this year.
Closing out AP test scores for Stanley-Boyd, United States Government and Politics saw two students take the AP exam, with both scoring a ‘5,’ for a mean score of 5.0. This was above the state average of 3.61 and global average of 3.34 respectively.
In all 112 passing scores resulted from this year’s AP tests at Stanley-Boyd, meaning less to pay in terms of college course credits for those who passed.
