Stanley-Boyd has a new copier lease, following board action at its regular March 24 board meeting. Motion to approve option 1 for a 48 month contract with Marco was made by board president Denise Hoffstatter, seconded by Bob Geist. The Marco bid won out over an alternative bid from E.O. Johnson.
In the meantime, Stanley-Boyd uses a lot of copies.
“That copier does over one million copies a year,” Koenig shared of the current district copier. Usage has been up from previous years, due in part to things like teachers wanting students to do more work with pen and paper, in part because of things like AI.
The Marco lease is for a Sharp BP-70M90, capable of 90 monochrome pages per minute with a 100 sheet bypass tray as well as two 550 sheet paper trays and a 2,100 sheet large capacity tray, among other features. The alternative quote from EO Johnson was for a RIOHC IM8000-RIC B/W Copier capable for 80 pages per minute.
