A Stanley-Boyd senior will compete in Track and Field at Viterbo University.

Syleen Seichter, Stanley-Boyd Class of 2025 and Miss Boyd 2024, signed a letter of intent for Viterbo on Monday, May 19 in a short ceremony at 3:00 p.m. in the Stanley-Boyd High School gym. Friends and family gathered in chairs and on the bleachers for the event.

The signing ceremony was opened with a short address by Athletic Director Nathan Steinmetz, followed by FFA Advisor Jordan Donnerbauer, who also served as one of Syleen’s track coaches over the years.

“Viterbo is lucky to have you and I am confident you will continue to push yourself to excellence,” Donnerbauer said of Seichter and track. Track and Field Head Coach Bob Seidl more on Seichter’s  accomplishments

“She has been a strong contributor to the girls program for the past four years.  She has concentrated mainly on the discus and this year had a personal best of 101 feet,” he said. “I’m happy she is continuing on with her interest in track and field at Viterbo. I look forward to following her achievements at a college track.”

Seichter’s track and field career spans all four years of high school, with personal records including 101-11 in the discus, 4-6 in the outdoor high jump, 23-11 in the shot put, 28-4.5 in the outdoor triple jump, 21.73 in the 100 meter hurdles, 4-3 in the indoor high jump, and 25-3.75 in the indoor triple jump. So why Viterbo?

“They have a great community and their nutritional science and athletic programs stand out,” Seichter said of the school.
